Numoon Lab TV is experimental live television for music, media, dance, poetry and arts. We start on December the 11th 2007 at Lantaren/Venster, Rotterdam. The next recordings will be October 9th, and November 12th. On November 27th we will do a Numoon Lab TV Special previewing Numoonfest 2007 (December 13th,14th,15th). Numoon Lab TV will be broadcasted on Saturdays after the live recordings. Check your local tv programm or visit our partners websites:

We will record a 4 hour liveshow. Special guests will be invited (musisicans, producers, dj's, vj's, filmers, poets, dancers, live-painters). We will introduce them to a live audience. They will do a presentation and performance of their latest work.

Every guest is invited to do an instant composing session with the Numoon Orchestra. This everchanging collective consists of well experienced producers, musicians, vj's, dj's, dancers and performers.

Artistic directors are Hanyo van Oosterom (music) and Maaike Engels (media). Technical producer is Theo Hensen. There are several co-producers for vocals, poetry, dance and art.

There will be collumns introducing exciting new music & media releases, events, equipment, etc.

Numoon Lab TV wil focus on nu-styles of music & media. In terms of music the programm will explore nu-jazz, nu-soul & funk, alternative hiphop, singer/songwriter, electronic music, nu-worldmusic and crossover styles. The media (film, photography, video, animation) will follow the music by jamming with the soundscapes and sometrimes the music will tune in to the media.

Any exciting live contributions and performances like dance, poetry, live-painting and installations will be included and invited. The focus will be on instant composing. Again any contributing artist will be interviewed and exposed before joining the Numoon Orchestra.

Wellknown international and national artists touring the Netherlands will join the live recordings. They will work together with new talents. Numoon Lab TV works together with organisations from the numusic network (also check out www.numusic.nu for the complete online network and post your adds).

Numoon Lab TV is Rotterdam based and has a strong connection to events and organisations like Poetry International, Rotterdam Film Festival, Lantaren/Venster, Centrum Beeldende Kunst and different clubs, artschools, collectives, etc.

The 4 hour liveshow will be edited and cut to a 1 hour televsion programm for local tv stations in Rotterdam (TV Rijmond), The Hague (TV West) and Amsterdam (AT5). Dates t.b.a. Numoon Lab TV is an experimental laboratory. There is no written format or scenario. The art of instant composing is the main guidance for unexpected creations and beautiful mistakes. Instant composing is going back to the roots of all arts and way beyond the so called jamsessions.

In a way instant composing is a spiritual process but at the same time transformed into a concrete experience based on pure craftmenship. A great challenge for all participants. Will it work? Who knows, with the ever-changing line-ups and collaborations we don't really know what to expect. For sure it will go from past to present and way in to the future.

To get an idea you can check out soundsamples from the first laboratory sessions and try-ots at www.numusic.nu (click on laboratory sessions). All recordings are live performed and improvised. This compilation consists of some ambient soundscapes, other sessions will express new and different moods. Again, we will go all the way.
